Candle Safety
It’s vital that you follow these safety tips when using your candle.
- Keep your candle out of reach of children and pets.
- Never leave your candle burning unattended, on an unbalanced surface or close to fabric, drafts or flammable objects.
- Your first burn is the most important. We advise that you burn the candle long enough to create an even wax ring that reaches the vessel walls, this ensures a healthy burn life.
- Don’t burn your candle for longer than 4 hours in one burn session.
- Trim your wick to approx 3mm before each use, removing any debris from the wax and mushrooms that may have formed on the wick.
- Be sure your candle is placed on a stable, heat-resistant surface and ample of distance away from walls or anything the heat may mark.
- Don’t burn your candle all the way down - know when to say goodbye, and leave 1/2 inch of wax in the bottom of the container.
- Never touch or move a burning candle when the wax is liquid. Candle jars can get very hot when burning, please therefore avoid touching the vessel walls when burning or recently burned.
- Place burning candles at least 10cm apart from one another.
- Use a snuffer to avoid hot wax splattering, and never use water to put out the flame.
